Academy

THROUGH THE GREENVILLE BLUES AND DELTA BLUES PROGRAMS WE OFFER COMPETITIVE LEVEL TRAINING & PLAYING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PLAYERS IN THE U7 THROUGH U16 AGE GROUPS.

If your child has not previously participated in our Academy program by training or playing with a Greenville Blues team and would be interested in doing so or in trying out for the Delta Blues program, please contact Alex Oglesby, GYSA President, by texting 662-820-9380 or emailing president@gysams.org for more information.

GYSA’s Academy training program officially kicked off on November 30, 2016, with a small group of players and coaches who were looking for more than what our traditional Recreational program could offer. Our first two seasons saw our "Greenville Blues" and "Delta Kickers" teams making great strides and competing at various tournaments across our state and region.  In our third season, 2018-2019, the program consolidated all teams under the "Greenville Blues F.C." umbrella, and our players found success winning or placing second in a number of events.

In the Fall of 2019, in order to offer even more advanced training and playing opportunities for our older players, GYSA worked in collaboration with Cleveland Youth Soccer Association and the coaching staff of the Delta State University soccer teams to form the new Delta Blues soccer program.  For the 2019-2020 season, the Delta Blues fielded 4 teams -- U12 Boys, U11 Girls, U13 Girls, and U15 Girls -- and the new program is enjoying great success in its inaugural season with more than 60 players participating!

The Greenville Blues and Delta Blues programs continue to grow through the support of many dedicated volunteers and sponsors, and we are looking forward to many new & exciting offerings for our players in the future.

Since January 2017, our Greenville Blues and Delta Blues competitive teams have participated in a number of tournaments in Mississippi, Arkansas, & Louisiana.  Several of our Greenville Blues and Delta Blues players have also participated in Mississippi's Olympic Development Program (ODP) and have represented our club well at the state level, training and competing with players from all across the state and region in a highly competitive environment.
